Sparrow Society is a s18A PBO

We partner with individuals, corporates, and other non profits to create sustainble programs with long-term impact. Programs like our PowerPads project requires donor support. For as little as R150, you can sponsor a pack of pads that empowers both a GBV survivor and a menstruator who lacks access to essential period products.

This program empowers Survivors of Gender-Based Violence to earn an income making washable period products that are then distributed for free to schools throughout South Africa alongside a menstrual health education and GBV prevention program.

Research clearly shows that when women are able to financially sustain themselves, they are less prone to abuse and exploitation.

Gender Based Violence is a reality that far too many women in South Africa face. By providing economic opportunities for women, we are restoring the power back into her hands to protect herself, provide for her family, and reach for a better future. We have done this over the last 12 years through a range of skills development, job creation and enterprise development programs and opportunities.
