As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, the Office for Inclusivity and Change (OIC) at UCT partnered with Sparrow Society under the “BehindU, Periodt” slogan, with additional support from the International Academic Programmes Office (IAPO).
IAPO contributed 60 care packs containing essential toiletries, complemented by additional care packs from the OIC. In recognition of the invaluable work done by the Thuthuzela Care Centre, Wynberg SAPS, and Claremont SAPS in supporting GBV survivors, Sparrow Society donated care packs along with our Power Pads for their victim support rooms.
Each care pack contained: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, face cloth, body spray, roll-on or body lotion, two lipsticks, and hand sanitiser.
