Sparrow Society is a women’s empowerment brand based in Cape Town, South Africa dedicated to impacting communities through targeted Gender-Based Violence intervention & education, skills development, and enterprise development programs.Â
Research clearly shows that when women are able to financially sustain themselves, they are less prone to abuse and exploitation.
Gender-Based Violence is a reality that far too many women in South Africa face. By providing GBV education, support services and economic opportunities for women, we are restoring the power back into her hands to protect herself, provide for her family, and reach for a better future. We have done this over the last 12 years through a range of skills development, job creation and enterprise development programs and opportunities.
Long Term Community Impact: Sustainable economic empowerment of women shifts the narratives around the role and value of women in communities, leading to a natural and progressive shift in the social and systemic factors that perpetuate gender inequality and abuse.
