Empowering Young Girls, Breaking the Silence

On Wednesday, 2 October 2025, Sparrow Society partnered with Badisa to support a menstrual health education and pad distribution session at Winsley Primary School in Bellville South.

Together with third-year Social Work students from Stellenbosch University completing their community work practical at Badisa Bellville, we engaged Grade 4–7 girls in an open and age-appropriate discussion on menstrual health management, body awareness, and self-care.

A total of 150 reusable PowerPads were donated to the school, ensuring that every girl has access to sustainable, dignified menstrual care.

Because empowering girls with knowledge today builds the confidence, equality, and opportunity of tomorrow.
