Sparrow Society was honoured to participate in the Women’s Day celebration at Kasselsvlei Comprehensive High School, hosted by the Transnet Foundation: Health Portfolio and Mobcow as part of the 2025 Teenage Health and Development Programme. The event created a powerful space for learners from Kasselsvlei and Rosendaal High Schools to engage in conversations about empowerment, gender equality, and personal growth.
For Sparrow Society, being present alongside partner organisations such as Love Life, Peace Centre, Dorcas, SAPS Bellville, and others was an important opportunity to share resources, connect with young people, and stand in solidarity with efforts to reduce gender-based violence and strengthen dignity and self-worth among youth.
The line-up of inspiring speakers — from Ambassador Ruby Marks, who reflected on the legacy of the 1956 Women’s March, to youth-focused voices on bullying, confidence, and the role of women — echoed Sparrow Society’s mission of empowering women and girls to take back their power.
We value the collaboration and spirit of unity that defined the day and remain committed to contributing to collective initiatives that uplift young women, protect their rights, and build pathways to sustainable empowerment.
